Jean-Michel Jarre - Bridge from the Future

In association with ESET Digital Security, the electronic music pioneer performed live at Incheba Bratislava, Slovakia on May 12, 2024 - against the stunning backdrop of the Most SNP (UFO) Bridge. Mournful explorations of parental paranoia and Scandinavian solitude crumbled under the force of a newly emerging identity straining to devour societal interdictions and accepted gender frameworks with 2017's Plunge. Splintered facets of a stridently non-binary personality were explored with 2023's Radical Romantics along with a very human need for intimacy, its most vulnerable moments still as steely and unsettling as a shark circling its prey. Experience the idiosyncratic Fever Ray vision for this exclusive Passengers session beamed in from an abandoned factory in northern France.

Archive aux Grandes Serres de Pantin - Passengers

Archive had left us without news for some time, but the London collective returned in 2022 with an album that was a cry from the heart, Call to Arms & Angels, suffocated by an accumulation of alarming events (Brexit, Covid-19, lockdowns, etc.). The band, skilled at blending genres (trip-hop, alternative rock, electro, etc.), transformed this melancholy into lyrical despair and vigorous protest. During their French tour, which ended on November 24, 2023, at the Accor Arena in Paris, Archive, renowned for their spectacular shows, treated themselves to a warm-up tour in Passengers, in the heart of the industrial hall of the Grandes Serres de Pantin. Recorded on October 6, 2023, at the Grandes Serres de Pantin, in Seine-Saint-Denis.

From the Black Earth

Employing both lucid speakers and poetic camera work, the film poses stark questions such as; why does food poverty exist in a nation of plenty, and why are people of colour so under represented not only in our countryside and farms, but in the environmental movement more broadly? By giving a platform to people of colour who are connecting with nature and working the land, this short documentary starts to unpick these questions...

Revolution of Sound - Tangerine Dream

‘Tangerine Dream is science fiction!’ declares band leader Edgar Froese who died in January, 2015 aged 70. For almost fifty years he and his band ‘Tangerine Dream’ explored sound and its effect on our emotions. This film about one of Germany’s first electronic bands kicks off with the young Berlin musicians who were as inspired by the space age of the 1960s, with its rocket launchings and visions of the future, as they were by their own heartbeat, on which Froese also based compositions. Aided by the Moog and other synthesisers Froese (and various band members) revolutionised popular music. His explorations took him into the worlds of classical, new and film music. He preferred to visualise moods rather than create clearly structured songs. A blend of amateur footage, interviews with band members, relatives, friends and colleagues such as Jean-Michel Jarre that creates a comprehensive portrait of an artistic pioneer.

Clive Martin investigates this 21st century version of Rave, where young people break into disused spaces with the help of bolt-cutters and complicated squatting laws, to suck on balloons and go hard into the early morning. Björk: Minuscule

This documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at Björk and her touring entourage for the 2001 Vespertine tour. It includes interviews with harpist Zeena Parkins, the Inuit choir from Greenland, electronic duo Matmos, and an ongoing conversation with Björk herself about her recordings and her tours. The documentary is interspersed with live footage of songs from the tour shot by Ragnheidur Gestsdóttir, which themselves correspond to the performances chosen for the Vespertine Live album.

Skinny Puppy: Doomsday

Pro-shot live recording of the now infamous gig of legendary industrial band Skinny Puppy. Performed in Dresden at Germany's Doomsday Festival. This performance marked the reunion of former bandmates, cEvin Key and Nivek Ogre. It was the first Skinny Puppy concert since 1992, first in Europe since 1988, and first ever in the former East Germany.

Clara Rockmore: The Greatest Theremin Virtuosa

Quite simply the finest theremin player who has ever lived, Clara Rockmore began her performing life as a violin prodigy at the age of 5 years old, still the youngest person ever admitted to the prestigious Imperial Conservatory of Saint Petersburg where she studied under the great Leopold Auer. Due to childhood malnutrition causing bone problems in her teen years, she was forced to give up the violin and moved to New York City in the mid 1920's where she met and became involved with Russian electronics genius Leon Theremin and helped him to refine and perfect his new instrument, giving advice from the standpoint of a musical performer to make the theremin more playable and developing her own hand techniques and exercises for playing the instrument.
