Based on the hilarious Gilbert and Sullivan classic H.M.S. Pinafore, U.S.S. Metaphor includes such characters as Captain Closeted, his gay son sailor Stephen (in love with sailor Ralph Rackstraw), sanctimonious Reverend Dick Deadheart, the lovable Mister Buttercup, Savoy Network News reporter Anderson Scooper, presidential candidate the Honorable Secretary Josephine Porter, and her travel companion, "Aunt" Shebe. The ship is docked at Boston Harbor as Secretary Porter and her entourage visit to inspect for "homosexual activity." An inevitable happy ending celebrates same-sex marriage and tolls the bell for an end to Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

The Long Ryders: Rockin' at the Roxy
The Long Ryders, with bands such as The Bangles and The Three O' Clock, were key players in the Paisley Underground, a musical movement from the mid-1980s, combining the chiming folk rock of the 1960s with a psychedelic bent and a bit of punk attitude. The Long Ryders developed a cult following, becoming college radio favorite. This presentation finds frontman Sid Griffin and his band performing at the Roxy in Los Angeles in February of 1986.

STARMANIA is a cyberpunk rock opera that premiered on stage in 1979. In the near future, most developed countries have merged. Zéro Janvier, CEO of the biggest corporation in "The Occident" (as the new Western state is known) is campaigning to become President on a platform vowing to eliminate the terrorist group The Black Stars and their leader Johnny Rockfort. He has convinced the Stars' information broker Sadia to secretly work for him, while also courting the retiring film star Stella Spotlight. Meanwhile, Johnny Rockfort plans to kidnap television sweetheart Cristal, but he falls in love with her instead. Overlooking all this is Marie-Jeanne, a waitress in the café where the Black Stars meet, and her friend Ziggy, an obsessive David Bowie fan whose dearest wish is to appear on Cristal's music program STARMANIA. The show recounts these entwined love stories set in parallel, touching also on themes of terrorism, totalitarianism, and an individual's right to decide his own destiny.

Waylon Jennings - The Lost Outlaw Performance
On the evening of August 12, 1978, Waylon Jennings and The Waylons performed on the concert stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. The master recordings of this concert were never released and had been locked in the vaults of RCA Records, long forgotten since 1978. The songs embodied in this performance capture Waylon Jennings and his band at the height of the country music "Outlaw" period, ample evidence of the extraordinary and individualistic writing and singing talents of Waylon Jennings. Now presented for the first time in its entirety, exactly as it was recorded on August 12, 1978.
