Off to the Races

Part music video and part documentary, Off to the Races is a new arrangement of the classic Erhu song, Horse Race. The film is a collaboration between the Calgary Chinese Orchestra, filmmaker Vicki Van Chau, and music producer Warren Tse. Through an open call process, the film features 72 participants from the global music community playing with the members of the Calgary Chinese Orchestra, in celebration of the Lunar New Year.

Utilizing the deep resonance of the didgeridoo played by Nawang Khechong, a former Buddhist Monk the film gently, yet powerfully, transforms the viewer's sense of possibility for inner and world peace. A synthesis of viscerally experienced waves of sound and engaging images creates a calm and transcendent experience.

The Jungle Book The Musical

In the magical forest, the elephants dance and shake the whole jungle. The monkeys at the top of the trees make faces at the sly snake and the pack of wolves is joined by a new member - his name is Mowgli. Mowgli, a baby who is alone in the jungle, is adopted by the pack. The viewers follow Mowgli, how he survives, how his friends Bagheera the panther and Baloo the bear manage to save him from Shirkhan, the terrible tiger who wants to kill him. And finally the meeting with the human daughter, Mowgli's falling in love with Bana and the difficult decision to leave the forest.
